Our fundraising goal for 2024 is $30,000. As of October 15th, we have raised a total of $13,847 towards that goal so far this year.
In considering your level of support, please keep in mind that PayPal gives you the option of making a one time donation or a recurring donation. A recurring donation of small amounts spread out over time adds up and is just as effective as one larger donation. Either way, your support in reaching our goal this year will be greatly appreciated.
Building an experimental airplane is an expensive proposition. To date, we have purchased the first three of six sub-kits needed to complete the airplane, the tailcone/empennage which is completed, the fuselage which is about 50% completed, and the wings which we just received. We still need to purchase the finishing kit, the powerplant kit, and the avionics. These three are the most expensive, and all in all, we need to raise about $80,000 over the next two to three years to complete the airplane.
There are other miscellaneous costs as well, such as insurance, state fees, comsumable supplies, and other various small expenses needed to run a business. Fortunately, we have no payroll or personnel expenses since everyone associated with the charity and the program, including the Board of Directors, the officers of the corporation and our program mentors, volunteer their time without compensation.
